Read Strang, Sections 10.1 and 10.2.  Also read pages 277-278 from 
Section 6.3, on exponentials of matrices.

Problems from Strang to hand in:
Section 6.3:  #18,19,22.
Section 10.1: #1,22.
Section 10.2: #1,2,9,15,24.
