The course: Math 312 -- Linear Algebra: This is a one-semester course concerning linear equations, vectors, matrices, and vector spaces. It is intended for students in engineering, physics, and other subjects in which a linear algebra is used. Math 141 (or 151) is a prerequisite, and Math 240 is recommended. Math 312 does not count toward the Mathematics major, but it does count toward the Mathematics minor. Math 370 is another course that covers related material in greater depth; it counts toward the Mathematics Major requirement.

Lectures: MWF 10-11, DRL A7.


Text: Strang, Introduction to Linear Algebra, 2nd edition.


Homework: Weekly problem sets. Lowest one dropped.


Exams: Two in-class exams, and a final exam after the end of classes.
