Policy:
Some of this is a repeat of the Instructor's policy laid out here.
Your final grade is calculated as such:
20% quiz average
10% first exam
10% second exam
10% third exam
10% fourth exam
40% final exam
Homework problems are assigned here for material covered in each lecture. Homework will not be graded or handed in. Each week in recitation we will discuss homework problems and end with 10 minute quiz. Quizzes will be graded and handed back to you in recitation, probably by the next week. You can also view your grades online by loging on to Blackboard with your pennkey.
You should attempt all the homework problems before recitation. At the start of recitation I'll ask the class which problems were troublesome and we will do those on the board. If everyone stays silent when I ask for problems I will be forced to pick the questions myself, so it's best to come prepared with the problems you'd like to cover!
Advice:
Show up and take notes
Ask questions (in class and office hours)
Read the book
Do your homework
