Summer Workshop Information
|
This is a summer workshop in algebraic topology meant as a bridge from math 601 to math 618 and 619. It is geared toward beginning graduate students and undergraduates with some background in topology, but also to anyone with an interest in topology.
Goals for the talks The goal of these projects is to choose topics that are not in the usual syllabus
but that do not rely on too many prerequisites. This is a chance to have fun learning a topic that
interests you in depth, and also that you get practice presenting. Participants are encouraged to work in pairs or groups and give joint presentations.
Topic suggestions
We are happy to discuss topics to choose from and help you find resources and prepare. We have a Slack workspace for this summer seminar. If you would like to join, either to give a talk, just listen, or just be on Slack to see what is going on, please contact one of the organizers Jonathan Block, Herman Gluck, or Mona Merling, so we can send you the zoom link and the invitation link to join the Slack workspace.
Meeting times
- Tuesdays 3-4:30 EST over zoom
