Math 350, Fall 2005, Problem Set 9

Due Wednesday, Nov. 9, in class.

Reminder: There is a midterm exam in class on Monday, November 7. This exam will cover the material presented in class up through Wed., Nov. 2, and the material assigned on homeworks up through problem set 9 (not counting optional material). No calculators, books or notes are permitted during the exam, except for a single two-sided handwritten index card of 5"x7" or smaller.

Read Rosen, sections 8.4, 8.6, 9.1. Optional: Section 8.5.

From Rosen, do:

Section 8.4: 1, 5, 6, 7, 15.
Section 8.6: 1, 2, 7(a).
Section 9.1: 1(c,d), 2(c,d), 4(d,e), 6, 14, 15, 16.
