Homework

The course: Math 312 -- Linear Algebra: This is a one-semester course concerning linear equations, vectors, matrices, and vector spaces. It is intended for students in engineering, physics, and other subjects in which a linear algebra is used. Math 240 is a prerequisite. Math 312 does not count toward the Mathematics major, but it does count toward the Mathematics minor. Math 370 is another course that covers related material in greater depth; it counts toward the Mathematics Major requirement.

Lectures: TTh 3-4.30, DRL A5.

Text: Strang, Introduction to Linear Algebra, 2nd edition.

Homework: Weekly problem sets. Late homework will not be accepted, and missing assignments cannot be made up. Instead, the lowest (or missing) two assignments will be dropped.

Exams: Three in-class midterm exams, and a final exam after the end of classes. You cannot make up for a missing midterm exam, but I will drop the lowest or missing exam automatically. Tentative dates for the midterms: every seventh class, that is: (1) October 1 (2) October 27 (3) November 19
