In footnote 8 on page 8 of the story
we noted that Springer was sold in
December 2009 to two private equity firms, EQT Partners,
a Swedish company, and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation,
for e 2.3 billion euros.
On June 19, 2013, both Reuters and Bloomsburg reported that BC
Partners, a London-based private equity firm, has agreed to buy
the majority stake of Springer Science+Business Media GmbH
for 3.3 billion euros,
from EQT and Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.
Reuters further reported that the two sellers will keep a stake about
10 percent in Springer between them; this was partly confirmed
by EQT.
Note: Springer acquired Pharma Marketing and Publishing Services from
Wolters Kluwer in 2011.
